1. Spicy Smokey Taco Tex Burger
These killer Tex-Mex burgers are filled with lots of spicy Mexican goodness. The smokey, spicy aroma of seasoned meat and cheese is always a crowd favorite. You can serve a mild or extra spicy version of this burger for your “heat”ed customers. To kick up the heat for a super spicy version, add your chili sauce of choice to the meat mix before grilling and a bit more when assembling. For best results, serve on a freshly baked bun.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons grated onion
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 diced chili pepper (jalapeño will do)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup crushed corn chips
- Plenty of cheddar jack cheese
- Lettuce, tomato, sour cream and salsa, for topping
Directions:
Heat a gas or charcoal grill. In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, dried seasonings, grated onions, diced chili pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Add in the crushed tortilla chips and lightly combine. Shape the mixture into 4 – 4oz. patties.
Place the patties on the grill over medium heat. Close grill and cook, turning once, until desired doneness – about 10 minutes for medium. Top each patty with the cheese and cook just until the cheese melts. Layer the buns with sour cream, a patty, lettuce, tomato and salsa.
2. Sweet & Salty Lamb Burgers
Next up is this amazing lamb burger recipe, sweet and salty come together in a symphony of gamey goodness that is sure to wow your customers. The original recipe calls for a bit of mint but you can leave that out if it feels a bit too obscure for your customers.
Ingredients (Relish):
- 1/2 cup pickled cherries (pitted)
- 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes
- 3 tablespoons fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons shelled pistachios
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 mint leaf (optional)
Directions:
Combine cherries, tomatoes, parsley, mint (if desired) and pistachios in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse 2-3 times or until relish is chopped (not puréed) and ingredients are evenly incorporated. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Ingredients (Burgers):
- 3/4 pound fine ground lamb
- 1/4 cup crumbled gorgonzola cheese
- 1 shallot (chopped)
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 2 teaspoons fresh chopped oregano or 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
Combine ground lamb, gorgonzola, shallot, garlic, vinegar, oregano, cinnamon, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper in a large bowl, using your hands to gently mix as necessary. Divide mixture into fourths (sixths if you will be making sliders). Form patties slightly larger than the diameter of your buns. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side (2 to 3 for sliders) or until meat reaches desired doneness.
3. Fresh Garlic & Cilantro Turkey Burgers

Ingredients (Burgers):
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1/4 cup quinoa (cooked)
- 1/2 cup cilantro (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon onion (minced)
- 1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
- Salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
Mix the turkey meat with the quinoa, cilantro and season with salt and pepper. Shape into four patties and cook over medium-high heat, grill the burgers until done, about 4 – 5 minutes per side.
Ingredients (Kale):
- 4 cups kale (finely chopped)
- 4 – 6 garlic cloves (minced)
- Salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
Saute the kale and garlic with the olive oil until the greens have wilted and the stems are soft. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Top with fresh avocado slices, then sliced tomato, then garlicky kale.
4. Bacon Meatloaf & Cheddar Burger
If ever there was a burger so close to home, it’s this glorious burger. There are so many flavors happening at once in this symphony of home cooking, your customers are sure to be lined up as far as the eye can see! This is the perfect recipe to get creative with. You can top it with traditional lettuce, tomato and onion or go next level with mashed potatoes and gravy or even mac and cheese!
Ingredients:
- 1 small onion (diced)
- 1 pound meatloaf mix (ground pork, beef and veal)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 lb. bacon
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup duck sauce
- 1 lb. sharp aged cheddar
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 4 potato buns or other rolls, split
- Lettuce, sliced tomato and pickle slices, for topping
- Sweet potato chips, for serving (optional)
Directions:
Preheat a grill to medium high. Grill the bacon to desired crispness and chop. Combine the meatloaf mix and bacon with the veg and dry ingredients. Gently form into four 1-inch-thick patties.
Brush the patties with the olive oil and grill until marked on the bottom (about 6 minutes). Meanwhile, mix the remaining ketchup and duck sauce in a small bowl for brushing; set aside a few tablespoons. Turn the patties, brush with the ketchup mixture and continue grilling until cooked through, roughly 5 more minutes. Add the cheese to melt. Toast the buns, if desired.
Spread the buns with the reserved ketchup mixture. Serve the patties on the buns; top with fresh onion, lettuce, tomato and pickles.
5. Mucho Mac & Cheese Stuffed Burger
The last entry on this post is quite possibly the king of all burgers. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the stuffed burger! This burger is more of a burger ideal, rather than a specific recipe. The stuffed burger has so many possibilities that we couldn’t possibly list them all here. However, this particular stuffed burger is always a crowd favorite!
Ingredients (Mac & Cheese):
- 1lb. cooked macaroni elbows or shells
- 1 1/2 cups grated jack cheese
- 1 1/2 cups grated sharp cheddar
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1 lb. bacon strips (cooked and chopped)
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix together macaroni noodles, béchamel, cheeses and bacon until combined. Let chill for 30 minutes to set.
Mix together beef mince, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Take about 1-2 tbsp of mixture and flatten into mini patties. Repeat with remaining mix.
Ingredients (Burger):
- 1 lb. beef mince
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 4 eggs, whisked
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs
Directions:
Fry each beef patty in a bit of oil in a pan over medium heat until browned Press macaroni mix into a disk, add one patty and top with additional macaroni. Wrap macaroni tightly to seal. Coat each disk in flour then egg then breadcrumbs, then repeat egg and breadcrumbs. Deep fry until golden brown.
